These rules are made up to follow the PRCA, NBHA, And NHSRA rulebooks anything not addressed here we will refer to these rulebooks. Any attempt to cheat, deceive, or otherwise break any rule is grounds for disqualification and any offender(s) may be suspended or banned from entering the Jackson Hole Rodeo.  We attempt to be as open and honest throughout all rodeos we ask the same of our contestants.

We love and enjoy rodeo and feel a strong desire to share the sport with the public, we will probably never be the biggest or richest rodeo, but we can be the most fun.   We hope our contestants feel the same bringing a positive and fun experience to all who have come to watch.  If we can’t have fun we have to ask ourselves why are we here?  This leads to our first and foremost rule, HAVE FUN!

Elite numbered ropers will be allowed to rope, however if two Elites rope together the resultant sum plus one. For example if two elite fives rope together there combined sum will be eleven and they cannot rope together in the #10 roping.

  1. The preferred number will be a current USTRC card, a past card may be used in lieu of a current card at the discretion of the roping judge (flagger) if no card is available the roping judge will assign a number based on assessed skill level.  At any point the roping director feel that any roper is inappropriately numbered the roper will be asked to enter the appropriate division.  Any flagrant attempt at thwarting or cheating the number system will lead disqualification and may be reported to USTRC.
